Joe Miller (Foundations Stoughton)

Joe began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2009 after getting out of the Army. Besides BJJ, Joe also trained in Krav Maga, Karate, and Kajukenbo. Joe was interested in the different martial arts because of his training in the Army Combatives program. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu grabbed hold of him, though because of his love for grappling and wrestling.

Joe was promoted to Blue Belt in 2011 by Daniel Tavares but ending up moving six months later and had a six-year break in training. After moving to Wisconsin in 2017, Joe started training at Foundations BJJ and fell in love with the art again. Joe and his family started competing in local tournaments and pro matches. You will notice them by the caravan of kids at the school and tournaments! Joe was awarded his Purple Belt by Coach Mike in February of 2019.

Joe started an open mat in Stoughton one night a week shortly afterward, and it quickly came to feel that there was enough interest for an actual academy presence. In April of 2019, Joe started Foundations Stoughton.
